Scene at breakfast this morning:

Sis: I thought we're all gonna clean the house today, where's dad?
Mom: He went jogging.
Sis: Jogging? He hasn't gone out of the bedroom yet, right?
Mom: He went jogging an hour ago... in his dreams.
Us: O_o
Sis: Wow, that's... some distance to cover, eh?
Mom: *peeks into bedroom* Definitely. See, he's covered some distance already, he's managed to roll onto MY side of the bed.
Dad: *SNORE*

Also, at 3 am this morning, I finished my evil fanfic. MWUAAHAHAHAHA. FINALLY. For the 2nd time. And posted! Now I just hope my giftee likes it. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to keep going, I really appreciated it. :D

I finished the fanfic on a new laptop. XD Which I've had for the past few days, but I didn't get her without driving a very hard bargain with my parents. Although it took a couple of days of them witnessing me gritting my teeth in front of my mom's desktop that fizzles out every couple of hours of usage and me trying to recover as many files as I can.
My dad bought a new laptop for himself a couple of months ago, and it was an Acer, 500 gb hard drive, i5, Win 7 Home pre-installed (37 K, in pesos) for work, and he thought he could cut a similar deal for me. But we couldn't find a single dealer who had the same type. There was a Dell with only 320, or a Compaq with WIN 7 Starter that were both 320 gb and i5, but I didn't feel happy about them.

Salesman: How old is your other one?
Me: 8 years?
Salesman: Uhm. Isn't it about time you buried it with a note saying, "Goodbye and Thanks for all the memories~"?
Me: NOoOOOOoOOo

Until we found a dealer with Toshiba laptops. Of course, my dad started complaining that they're more expensive, but hey, if my first Toshiba lasted 8 years - that's a great deal, right? But he was adamant that he wasn't gonna spend more for me than for himself. The salesman found me staring astonished at a listing for a 29K worth Toshiba (but with much lower specs), but they were out of stock since it was in high demand. However, he offered me another one for 39K for 250gb, i3, with pre-installed Win 7 Premium, and some other perks.

Me: I... I O__O
Mom: Do you want this?
Me: Yes. This one.
Dad: It's too expensive.
Me: O__O As soon as I get a job, you can transfer the monthly payments to ME.
Dad: Oho.
Salesman: We have a late payment promo! The first billing will come in March next year~
Dad: At which time you'll probably have a job, so you might actually pay for everything yourself.
Me: O__O Ok.
Dad: I like this.
Mom: But you still have to type my master's thesis for me! It's my account too.
Me: O__O Ok, I will.
Parents: DEAL.
Me: u__u *strokes shiny laptop*

Current state: tired but happy - we celebrated Christmas today because my sister has hospital duty tomorrow, and we brought along a couple of cousins who didn't have anyone to spend it with for the meantime (Dad in Saudi Arabia, dead Mom, Stepmom and stepbrother in the province, and disowned by their crazy grandma. :S).

Cleaned the entire house first, sweeping, mopping and installing new curtains. Then we ate at a nice Chinese restaurant, went wandering around MOA, then we found a shop with these tall, gorgeous parfaits which we spent the rest of the afternoon eating while telling stories to each other and goofing off. Waited until the fireworks show started, then we just drove around Makati looking at all the shiny decorations before heading home. Very happy.
